John F. Zavell, M.D.

John F. Zavell, M.D has practiced in Toledo, Ohio since 1993. His practice utilizes many of the Toledo area hospitals, surgery centers, and the private surgery center at Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, Inc.
Dr. Zavell received both his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in surgery at The Medical College of Ohio where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was twice voted the Outstanding Resident Teacher. He performed his residency in plastic surgery at Providence Hospital and the affiliated Institute for Craniofacial and Reconstructive Surgery. He has received additional training in endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, including the use of Botox and dermal fillers.
Dr. Zavell is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His interests lie in facial cosmetic surgery, body contouring, and breast surgery. With the advent of massive weight loss surgery, Dr. Zavell has expanded his practice to include body contouring surgery after massive weight loss. He is also a speaker at weight loss support groups.
Dr. Zavell is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Chairman of Plastic Surgery at Flower Hospital. In addition, he is a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He has participated in medical missions to South America, operating on children with birth defects.
Dr. Zavell resides in Sylvania with his wife, Beth (a Dermatologist) and three children.
